Challenges Facing the Water Industry

Posted November 21, 2018 Categories: DMP News,Spotlight Topics,Wastewater Treatment

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is an international, nonprofit, scientific and educational society whose mission is to provide total water solutions assuring the effective management of water.

Each year, AWWA produces a report based on a survey of its members, entitled the State of the Water Industry (SOTWI) report. The 2017 report yielded responses from 1,768 AWWA members and their top three concerns illustrate a critical need to treat wastewater onsite.

  • The most serious issue was the renewal and replacement of aging water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • The second most highly ranked concern was financing for capital improvements.
  • Long-term water supply availability was revealed to be another critical matter.

DMP shares these concerns with the water industry, and our onsite solutions help our clients operate effectively, economically, and in response to the everyday challenges of wastewater treatment.

DMP's Coronavirus COVID19 Statement to Customers

The state of Illinois recently issued a shelter in place order for all workers and businesses considered non-essential by The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (“CISA”), an agency in the Department of Homeland Security.

According to the memorandum, DMP & ISC – A DMP Corp Company – is considered a critical manufacturing company due to our supplying mission-critical chemicals required for the operation of the rail and wastewater industries. As a result, our primary chemical manufacturing facility in Illinois will continue to operate.

We will continue to receive and fill orders through this difficult time to support our customers and will keep you posted on any new information that may affect your business. Read more here.
