Automotive & Heavy Industry

The manufacture of modern automobiles, agricultural equipment, building and construction machinery, and the various components that comprise these machines, such as axels, engines and even radial tires, make for messy production. Plants contain various contaminants, such as heavy greases and lubricants, as well as typical metal finishing wastes. DMP has experience and working wastewater treatment systems in the automotive industry and nearly all manufacturing sub-categories, making us a valued partner in this industrial segment.

Water Treatment Solutions For Heavy Industry

In a manufacturing plant that focuses on engines, axle rebuilds, or other automotive processes, the primary contaminants are oil, grease and other lubricants that must be filtered out during wastewater treatment. Other pollutants include dirt and grime or heat treatments in molten salts – not so much dissolved metals or Biological Oxygen Demand load, just dirty, oily water. Hydrocarbons removal can be challenging, but DMP has a variety of technologies and chemistries at its disposal to render that wastewater safe for reuse.

Much of the Clean Water Act in 1972 came about in large part as a response to the high levels of wastewater produced by automotive, transportation and heavy machinery manufacturers. It was that demand that allowed DMP to thrive as we offered our solutions and expertise to plants and facility in need of better wastewater management. Now, there are still federal and local regulations our clients must meet. We make it our goal to allow these manufacturers to meet the necessary limits.

DMP's Coronavirus COVID19 Statement to Customers

The state of Illinois recently issued a shelter in place order for all workers and businesses considered non-essential by The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (“CISA”), an agency in the Department of Homeland Security.

According to the memorandum, DMP & ISC – A DMP Corp Company – is considered a critical manufacturing company due to our supplying mission-critical chemicals required for the operation of the rail and wastewater industries. As a result, our primary chemical manufacturing facility in Illinois will continue to operate.

We will continue to receive and fill orders through this difficult time to support our customers and will keep you posted on any new information that may affect your business. Read more here.
